Delone Catholic High School’s week-long celebration of school spirit begins Monday, Oct. 4 and culminates on Friday, Oct. 8, with a pep rally and homecoming court crowning, according to a
Karigen L. Emig, age 22, of Gettysburg, died suddenly on Friday, July 30, 2021, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
She was born in Gettysburg on January 3, 1999. She graduated from Delone Catholic High School, Class of 2017, and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in fashion merchandising from Thomas Jefferson University in May 2021. Karigen was currently employed at C & D Restaurant in New Oxford. She was continuing to pursue her career by interning at a New York based company, CoEdition.
Karigen loved life and lit up the room when she walked in. She was passionate about being a better person and strongly promoted the concept of self-love. Karigen enjoyed working out and rollerblading. She was an avid traveler and loved the beach. She cherished her niece and nephew and loved spending time with her family.

What makes you the best candidate? I have lived in New Oxford most of my 73 years. Over the years, I have been involved with my childrenâs activities in New Oxford schools, Girl Scouts and the Fire Company, not to mention my nieces and nephewsâ activities. I only have the best of intentions in serving the people of my town.
What are the most important issues facing the office you are seeking? As with any borough, there are issues that come up but we are able to resolve them during our meetings. I am committed to serving the borough to the best of my ability and in the interest of the people I represent.
William J. Lippe has been hired as the new principal at Delone Catholic High School.
Lippe comes to Delone Catholic most recently from Uschool.com, Newport, R.I., an educational/technology start-up, of which he was a co-founder, according to a Delone release. He will begin his duties at Delone Catholic on July 1.
Lippe holds a bachelorâs degree in management from Babson College, Wellesley, Mass.; a masterâs degree in theological studies from Christendom Graduate School, Alexandria, VA; and a masterâs degree in education policy and management from Harvard University. He has also previously served of head of school at St. Joseph of Cluny Sistersâ School, Newport, R.I.; and headmaster of St. Michael the Archangel, Fredericksburg, Va., according to the release.
