The Jockey Club undergoes senior commercial reshuffle Share
Charlie Boss as its new Chief Commercial Officer in one of three new appointments.
The former
Disney Commercial Director for sports in Europe and Africa will work closely with The Jockey Club’s Chief Executive,
Nevin Truesdale, in his new role.
Boss joined Disney in 2018 from
ESPN‘s UK office, where he acted as Head of Marketing, Commercial and Strategy for five years. Prior to that, he spent a year working for the
Rugby Football Union (RFU).
As part of the reshuffle,
Hannah Grosvenor has been promoted to National Sales Director of The Jockey Club. Grosvenor has held a number of titles since starting out at the commercial horse racing organisation, including Sales Executive, Business Development Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Regional Head of Sales.
Jockey Club confirms trio of senior commercial appointments

British racetrack operator the Jockey Club has announced a number of senior commercial appointments to support it new operational structure introduced on the back of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Charlie Boss will join the organisation as chief commercial officer, while Alexandra Goldschmidt will become director of partnerships and Hannah Grosvenor national sales director.
Boss will take on his new role in March, after he steps down from his current position as commercial director for sports in Europe and Africa for the Walt Disney Company, where he oversees commercial activities for ESPN.
Nevin Truesdale takes the reins as Jockey Club CEO Share
The Jockey Club, will assume the position on a permanent basis from 1 January 2021.
Truesdale has led the company in an ‘acting’ capacity since the end of August after former-CEO Delia Bushell stepped down following an independent inquiry which upheld allegations of ‘gross misconduct’.
Celebrating his new role, Truesdale said: “The Jockey Club is full of talented and hardworking women and men who are passionate about the future of British Racing, whether they have come into the industry from a whole range of different sectors or had a career within the sport to date.
Jockey Club appoints Nevin Truesdale as new CEO

The Jockey Club, Britain s largest commercial racetrack operator, has promoted finance chief Nevin Truesdale to the position of group chief executive, effective 1 January, 2021.
Truesdale has served as acting chief executive since late August, after previous CEO Delia Bushell was forced to step down from the role.
In the role on an interim basis he oversaw a major internal reorganisation, as part of the Jockey Club’s implementation of a new strategy in response to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
His tenure to date has also covered the resumption of racing behind closed doors, and the return of up to 2,000 spectators in Tier 2 locations across England.
