Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, after a meeting with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the city, on May 28 said the national capital will gradually begin unlocking from next week.
In a video message after a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) chaired by Mr. Baijal, the Chief Minister said the process of opening up will be gradual, as per the advice of experts.
The efforts' of the two crore people of Delhi have paid off as the second COVID-19 wave has been brought under control in a month, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said today, announcing that the capital begin unlocking from Monday.
In view of the pandemic situation in the state, lockdown-like restrictions in Maharashtra have been extended by fortnight, state minister Rajesh Tope informed on Friday.

Delhi Unlock process to begin from May 31; factories, construction activities allowed
With the Covid-19 positivity rate falling below 2 per cent in Delhi, the city government has decided to begin the unlock process. Addressing the media after meeting L-G Anil Baijal, Kejriwal said that relaxations will be given to businesses from May 31. He said that factories and construction activities will be allowed in the city for one week from Monday. This lockdown will last till Monday, 5am. We will begin the unlocking process. Construction activities and factories will be reopened from Monday keeping the daily wage workers in mind, the Delhi Chief Minister said.
