The number of Covid-19 cases in Delhi had dropped to zero on January 16 for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic. However, the city has witnessed a spurt in cases.
“Covid, oxygen and ICU beds are lying vacant and not many are hospitalised. The government and the health department are on high alert. Experts have also said that this Covid wave will subside soon,” said Saurabh Bharadwaj.
The number of active cases in the national capital jumped to 6,096, and the positivity rate has dropped to 5.39 per cent from 6.35 per cent on the previous day.
