The revocation of Stage-III of GRAP, which has been in effect since December 22, 2023, was unanimously agreed upon by the sub-committee of the commission for Air Quality Management in NCR & Adjoining Areas (CAQM)
The Commission for Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM), a statutory body responsible for formulating strategies to combat pollution in the region, met on January 1 following improvement in air quality.
Delhi air pollution: The ban on BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles in Delhi-NCR was lifted as authorities revoked GRAP Stage III restrictions in the region on Monday.
The average AQI for the month is worse than it has been in recent years – in 2022, the average for December was 319, while it was 336 in 2021, 332 in 2020, and 337 in 2019. The last time a higher average was recorded was in 2018 – 360.
