ODNR s new Delaware Wildlife Area Shooting Range staying busy, supervisor says
Paul Comstock
After more than three years of silence, the rattle of gunfire once again echoes in the woods five days a week at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources public shooting range in Delaware County.
The Delaware Wildlife Area Shooting Range is just east of the former range location on state Route 229, east of U.S. Route 23 and north of Delaware State Park, and is part of the Delaware Wildlife Area.
The old range was closed in 2017 with the goal of replacing it with the new, larger facility.

As with all facets of life, outdoor activities were affected by coronavirus in 2020 Dave Golowenski, For The Columbus Dispatch
The novel coronavirus snaked like a misbegotten thread through the fabric of Ohio’s outdoor year.
The pandemic’s presence all but finished face-to-face meetings and lotteries involving the public and the Ohio Division of Wildlife, forced charter captains for a time to stay at the dock, torpedoed the spring trout stocking at Antrim Lake, caused the postponement in March and the cancellation in August of the Deer and Turkey Expo, and wiped out in early May the Biggest Week in American Birding at Magee Marsh.
