Members of the Delaware Brewers Guild have brewed their versions of a Delaware-inspired IPA to raise awareness for the local industry.
The beer, being released under the name DelaWeAre, will be brewed by a variety of Delaware breweries, including Revelation, Volunteer, Stewarts, 38-75, Blue Earl, Bellefonte, Midnight Oil, Dew Point and Autumn Arch Beer Project. Each of the breweries has crafted a recipe inspired by the state of Delaware.
Patrick Staggs, owner of Revelation Craft Brewing, said, âWe wanted to brew a beer that is meant to be enjoyed right here. Brewed by Delaware for Delaware.â
HB 45 and HB 46 would let brewpubs expand, produce hard seltzer December 24, 2020
Delaware craft breweries and brewpubs, which have been among the businesses hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, could see new opportunities for growth under state legislation filed Dec. 18.
Sponsored by Rep. Bill Bush, D-Dover West, House Bill 45 would allow Delaware breweries to own and operate up to five brewpubs in the state, an increase from the three currently permitted. Brewpubs in Delaware are licensed by the Office of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissioner.
“By capping these licenses at three, we are unnecessarily stunting the growth of our brewpubs, and in many cases, causing them to expand out of our state,” said Bush. “Allowing additional licenses will give our local craft breweries the ability to grow, creating jobs and opportunities here in Delaware.”

DELAWARE – As many small businesses fight to stay afloat, some Delaware breweries are hoping newly proposed legislation may create some additional opportunities for them.
House Bill 45 would allow Delaware breweries to own and operate up to five brewpubs in the state, an increase from the three currently permitted. Meanwhile, House Bill 46 would allow Delaware brewpubs and microbreweries to brew, bottle and sell their own hard seltzers.
Eric Williams, the President of Mispillion River Brewing in Milford and the legislative chair of the Delaware Brewers Guild, tells 47 ABC these two pieces of legislation could have a positive ripple effect through out the entire state. “We want to create jobs. We want to sell beer but part of that is hiring new people and expanding our businesses,” says Williams.
