HAZLET, NJ - The Hazlet Township Committee selected a new mayor this month, a committee member since 2019 with a background in finance and education. Tara Clark, who served as deputy mayor in 2020, was appointed to a one-year term during Hazlet s annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 5.
Each year, members of the five-person committee select a new mayor and deputy mayor at the reorganization meeting. Clark takes over for Mike Glackin, who served as Hazlet s mayor in 2020.

Live shows are wrapping up for the holidays and the year this week with two comedies, “Rumors” by the Melon Patch Players in Leesburg, and “Making God Laugh,” a holiday-themed production at the Living Drama Theatre in Eustis.
Also performing this week are the Bay Street Players Young People’s Theatre with two virtual Zoom performances of “Little Women” today and Friday and live performances of Festive Holiday Melodies: A YPT Holiday Cabaret Saturday and Sunday.
Look ahead to January with three productions to start off the new year.
