Union threatened again moments later, but the rampaging Keita Endo shanked wide from inside the BVB box. That sparked the Black-Yellows into action as Reus scuffed wide from 10 yards out. Thorgan Hazard and Gio Reyna made Andreas Luthe work with shots from range, before Dortmund took the lead. Reus was adjudged to have been brought down by Luthe and, after Erling Haaland s penalty was saved, the Borussia skipper turned in his teammate s deflected follow-up from close range. Haaland had the chance to add a second before the half was out, but shot straight at the advancing Luthe s right leg when well placed inside the Union box.
