TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â Members of the Bond community are looking to preserve a historical landmark on Tallahassee s southside.
The former Robinson Grocery Store sits at the corner of Holton and Osceola streets. The Robinson Store has been around since I was born and I was born in the 50s, said Darrell Travis, who lives in Bond.
He said it was a staple in the community for decades, supplying the neighborhood with groceries.
Davis devoted her life to the cause of equal justice, opportunity and political representation.
Solemn funeral services for Anita Davis were held on Monday, Jan. 25 at Tallahassee s Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor R.B. Holmes greeted the congregants, with words of gratitude: To literally thank God for the life, love, leadership and legacy of the honorable sister, Anita L. Davis.
Local, State and Federal government resolutions praising her life and legacy poured in after her death. Davis s long-time friend Delaitre Hollinger shared the long list during the service: A tribute from the Florida House of Representatives, Allison Tant, State Representative District Nine, a tribute from the Florida House of Representatives, Ramon Alexander, state representative District Eight, a resolution from the Leon County School District, Rocky Hanna, superintendent, enumerating just a few of the many remembrances.
