A final vote on the new site for the Oklahoma County jail is expected on Tuesday as the OKC City Council will consider approving zoning for the location.
An Oklahoma County Commissioner is pleading for the Oklahoma City Council to give the greenlight for plans to build a new Oklahoma County Jail in Southeast Oklahoma City. He says if they don’t, it could cost the county millions.
Oklahoma County Commissioners say time is ticking to pick a new jail site and right now it’s down to two locations. Now it appears a nearby school district wants to make a deal if the jail happens to land in their backyard.
