Two seats on the Avondale Estates City Commission are up for election this year and the city is hosting a forum with the three candidates on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 21 N. Avondale Plaza.
Voters in DeKalb County have been inquiring about the arrival status of their absentee ballots. DeKalb County mailed absentee ballots on Oct. 12 in accordance with the new elections law, SB202. So far 1,502 ballots have been mailed, and more are on the way.
Earlier this year, Gov. Brian Kemp signed a bill that would allow voters to approve tax cuts for seniors living in Decatur. The tax cuts will be on the ballot during the city’s elections on Nov. 2.
