The Illinois National Guard and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Contractual Nurses ended their deployment in DeKalb County Thursday. The last day of COVID-19 vaccines at the NIU Convocation Center will be June 10. After June 10, there are no scheduled mass vaccination clinics where registration will be required. County reports eight new COVID-19 cases

AUBURN — The DeKalb County Health Department on Wednesday reported eight new cases of COVID-19 in DeKalb County residents. The county has reported 138 cases in the first 26 days of May, an average of 5.3 per day. New cases have been in single digits each day since a report of 12 cases on May 7. Wednesday’s new patients include one between birth and age 10; three between ages 31-40; two in the 51-60 age bracket; and two from 61-70 years old. The youngest of Wednesday’s patients is 2 years old, DeKalb County Health Officer Dr. Mark Souder said. The new patients bring the total to 4,387 DeKalb County residents who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the first local case was reported March 24, 2020.
