Local children s author Emer Conlon is one of the Louth ambassadors for Ireland s first ever national reading day and reading campaign, Ireland Reads.
Emer, who has penned the very popular Vroom-Town series of books, is backing the campaign which encourages everyone young and old to squeeze in a read to help their mental well-being and to get back into the habit of reading.
Ireland Reads is a public libraries initiative, in partnership with publishers, booksellers, authors and others under the Government s Keep Well campaign.
Louth Library Service is spearheading the campaign in Louth and have selected a number of local ambassadors to promote Ireland Reads taking place on Thursday February 25. Along with Emer, other local ambassadors include Marian Clarke and Drogheda Creative Writers, Jamie Staudt, Kevin Branigan, Nicola Pierce, Grace Tierney, Ruth Campbell, and Anthony Murphy.
