Fueled by dozens of tenants who showed up at a meeting last month to decry unsafe, unsanitary housing conditions, the Hartford City Council called for action Thursday and they aren’t backing down.
Barbara Kiefer, co-chair of CVGC’s Civic Relations Committee, said the partnership is a perfect combination of what public and private entities can do when it comes to working together to make improvements.
In addition to working to educate children through her books, Traudt has partnered with Community Renewal Team CT for her 2nd annual Homeless Care Package Project.
"The problem isn’t the town manager, or the last one for that matter. The problem is the town council. We are so divided and people… they care more about themselves than they do about the town," Councilman Joe Merritt said.
