Sen.-elect Tuberville Hints at Backing Electoral College Challenge in the Senate
17 Dec 2020
Earlier this week, Sen.-elect Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) suggested he could challenge the Electoral College votes from several states in the U.S. Senate when Congress meets to certify the November 3 election outcome, which had been declared a victory for Joe Biden.
In a video posted by “Undercurrent” executive producer Lauren Windsor on Twitter, Tuberville hinted at the possibility while on the campaign trail for Sens. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) and David Perdue (R-GA) in Georgia.
“Well, you see what’s coming,” he said. “You’ve been reading about it in the House. We’re going to have to we’re going to have to do it in the Senate.”

Did Tommy Tuberville
reallypledge to challenge Joe Biden’s electors at the start of the next Congress? Or is this a dirty trick started by liberal activists? Tuberville himself told Yellowhammer News in an exclusive interview that he has never pledged to take any action in regard to electors, saying that the video from Wednesday confused his answers to other questions with that of the issue of electors.

I won’t rehash the mechanics of what happens in Congress on January 6. If you haven’t been following it, this post will catch you up. It’s enough here to say that whether McConnell can prevent any members of his caucus from objecting to the results in swing states is a less interesting question right now than how many Senate Republicans might end up objecting once one does.
All it takes is one objection to force a floor vote on whether to accept a state’s electoral votes, remember. If Tuberville is committed to objecting or if Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue feel obliged to object in order to shore up righty support for their runoff races then there’s no point in 2024 hopefuls staying on the sidelines. A Ted Cruz or Josh Hawley might be willing to play ball with McConnell and hold their objections in order to spare their colleagues in swin

Sen.-elect Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) indicated in a video that surfaced Thursday that that he thinks the Senate should support a challenge to the results of the Electoral College, which certified President-elect Joe Biden s victory this week.
Tuberville suggested he would back a challenge Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) has vowed to bring against the vote. If a senator joins Brooks, it would require the House and Senate to debate and then vote on the issue.
