republicans if the shutdown happens? it seems like members of the president s base wouldn t mind if the government shut down when it comes to border wall funding. well, yeah. i m sure the hardest elements of the republican base will be fine with a partial government shutdown. it s the broader american public that may not be so happy about a shutdown. we ve been through this in 2013. we re going to shut down the funding over defunding obamacare. democrats took it on the chin on a daca bill. this is going to be very bad for republicans. and truthfully, it s only going to get tougher and the president has also made some other absurd clim saying the defense department is going to be able to build this wall. they can t build a wall.
