coalition in the middle. there were a number of republicans who did not back this proposal. some of them didn t back it because they didn t believe in increasing the debt ceiling without cutting spending further. some of them didn t back it because they were very concerned about how much the country was planning to spend on defense arguing that it was not enough. in fact, in order to fast-track this agreement and move last night, senators wanted a requirement and a promise from leadership that they were going to work hard to try to push forward with additional money for ukraine in the upcoming months, so that became a critical part of securing the fast-tracking of this legislation but it s done. they passed it, and obviously huge questions about what this means moving forward for the speaker and what this means for this coalition of members in the middle who helped pass this bill. yeah, be interesting to see if that coalition can hold for perhaps some other things moving forward. jer
is there a larger issue here? is there a risk for these women getting involved with ryan widmer? , it s easy to get sucked into that but i think you have to understand what ryan was going through. he was never been able to mourn properly for her because you cannot do that when you are on charge for murder. they contacted him, and it was companionship. it was time to wrap up trial number three. the prosecutor saying that it was a sudden violent murder. everybody who s been in a relationship knows that sometimes things go off, they snap. for no good reason. i think something like that happened, at some point brian saw that the perfect marriage was falling apart and that is what happened here. the defense arguing a medically undetermined death by natural causes. it s probably gonna bother me for the rest of my life. what happened with sara. we will never know. sara had drowned, but how? a third jury retired for deliberation. coming up.
this such a challenging task for the jury. you talked about just the health of information and testimony that they re going through right now. well, this is actually a pretty straightforward fraud case. even if the details about the machines and blood testing is technical. there was never any question about what elizabeth holmes said, wrote or did. much of it pretty publicly. she made misleading statements to the media, public and investors. at one point the company was burning through $2 million a week and investors were told it was on track to bring in $1 billion a year when it had no revenue at the time. the only real question the jury has to decide in the holmes case is did she have enough criminal intent to convict? the defense arguing that when she made the misleading statements j she believed them. the prosecution arguing she chose fraud over business
hey, hold her to that standard. it doesn t matter whether someone is nice or you like someone, it matters whether they violated the law. look at her training. on the other hand you have the defense arguing that a mistake is not a crime. she was cron trite and she s a good person and let her go. so you have a struggle with some jurors saying she knew better, this was reckless or at the least negligence and other jurors saying i don t know. i think that she was a really really upset about what happened and contrite about what happened and let s give her a pass and i think you re having that dynamic. and the defense had an expert psychologist who indicated that you could make a mistake, even if you are seasoned, even if you are experienced and i think the jury could be relying upon that to further excuse her conduct. and i think that is what the factions is batting about. accountability or not accountability, do we give her a pass, that is the argument if
jennifer crew with made up the whole story. i was shocked that somebody would go under oath and lie on the stand. but still, had the defense paid a price by putting yet another woman on the stand? is there risk for you about these women getting involved with ryan widmer? it s easy to get sucked into that. i think you have to understand what ryan has been going through. he s never been able to grieve for sarah, he s never been able to mourn properly for her. it was companionship. it was time to wrap up trial number three. the prosecutor saying it was a sudden violent murder. anybody who s been in a relationship knows that sometimes things go off, they snap, for no good reason. i think something like that happened. at some point ryan saw that his perfect marriage was falling apart and that s what led us here. the defense arguing a medically undetermined death by natural causes. it s probably going to bother me for the rest of my life, what
