Soulja Boy is facing a new lawsuit from a woman who claims that the rapper abused her while they were in a relationship, TMZ reports and Pitchfork can confirm. The civil suit was filed today (May 11) in a California state court. The rapper is being sued for domestic violence, negligence, sexual battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and gender violence.
According to the lawsuit, viewed by Pitchfork, Soulja Boy and the woman, listed under the pseudonym Jane Doe, “began their on-and-off romantic relationship in 2007,” and later “restarted their relationship in a more serious capacity in 2014 until mid 2019.” The lawsuit outlines several instances of alleged violence during the course of their relationship. A woman who formerly worked as Soulja Boy s personal assistant has filed a lawsuit against the rapper alleging sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment and more took place during her employment.
The woman who goes by Jane Doe in court papers obtained by Fox News claims the 30-year-old hip hop artist raped, beat and held her hostage in addition to failing to pay her for 18 months of work.
The woman alleges that she began working for the rapper, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, in December 2018. She says she was responsible for cooking, cleaning, driving and styling the performer with a pay rate of $500 a week.
