On Monday, Prairie Sky Gondola is asking for city council’s blessing to press forward with its scheme for a 2.5-kilometre gondola from Whyte Avenue to downtown cutting mostly through Edmonton’s cherished river valley.
A mono-cable gondola, the least costly of the design types, would add a non-essential, redundant transportation corridor to an area well served by many transportation crossings including the new Walterdale Bridge.
