New Delhi [India], February 14 (ANI): Slamming the Central government for not giving priority to the national security, former Defence Minister and Congress leaderAK Antony on Sunday said that the country is facing two-front war from Pakistan and China. For the first time, India is facing two front war-like situation- one from Pakistan and now China becoming more belligerent by building infrastructure and military mobilisation across India-China border mainly from Eastern Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, said Antony said at a press briefing in Delhi.

Sitharaman allocates Rs 4.78 lakh crore to defence budget for 2021-22, highest in 15 years ANI | Updated: Feb 01, 2021 14:46 IST
New Delhi [India], February 1 (ANI): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for increasing the defence budget to Rs 4.78 lakh crore for the financial year 2021-22 and termed it as the highest ever increase in capital outlay for defence in 15 years.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday annouced an allocation of Rs 4,78,195.62 crore for the defence sector for 2021-22 as against last year s Rs 4,71,378 crore (including Defence Pension). Excluding pensions, it is pegged at Rs 3.62 lakh crore from last year s Rs 3.37 lakh crore.

New Delhi [India], February 1 (ANI): Finance MinisterNirmala Sitharaman on Monday presented the Budget 2021-22 that lasted around one hour and 50 minutes.
This was a shorter speech compared to the last two years where Sitharaman spoke for over two hours. In 2020, she was not able to complete her speech after speaking for a record 160 minutes in the Lok Sabha.
During her third budget speech in Lok Sabha, Sitharaman said that the government is committed to the welfare of farmers and the Minimum Support Price (MSP) regime has undergone a change.
