MoD wants digital ecosystem to support primary healthcare in defence

Topics The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is looking to develop a new information capability to support primary healthcare in its sector. Its Medical Information Services (Med IS) team has outlined Programme Cortisone with the aim of creating an ecosystem for user-centric healthcare information services. The MoD has begun to look for delivery support in a two-year project, valued at £2.4 million, in the development of the ecosystem of digital services to support Defence Medical Services. According to the market notice, it plans to break away from the existing siloed model, which it says is increasingly unaffordable and unsustainable, by using proven digital products and services to enable an ‘at scale’ flexible delivery model for primary healthcare.
