DEERFIELD A section of Greenfield Road (Routes 5 and 10) will be closed at 9 p.m. Tuesday by the state Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to address flooding from recent rainstorms.
The section of the state highway near Richardson’s Candy Kitchen, at 500 Greenfield Road, will be closed to give MassDOT time to pump out water flooding the area and open clogged pipes, according to a post on the Deerfield Police Department’s Facebook page.
Injured bobcat rescued by Deerfield officer sent to wildlife clinic

SOUTH DEERFIELD After being rescued Sunday by a Deerfield police officer, veterinarians and a local resident with a “trusty net,” an injured bobcat is on its way to recovering and returning to the wild.
Deerfield police Officer Mark Puchalski took a report of an injured bobcat next to the driveway of Tree House Brewery at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. Once on the scene, he met with two staff members from the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital, right across Routes 5 and 10 from where the animal was found, and noticed the young bobcat had an injured rear leg.
