going in, picking it up off the shelf and employing it against other americans. i keep hearing america first from this president and i haven t seen him put anything in place that would put americans first. anyone that s grown up with guns in their household, including the brzezinskis. deer hunters. and anyone in the deep south that i grew up around, the father or grandfather got them a gun when they were 5, 6, 7 and hunting was a big part of their life, especially in the fall. those people are the most responsible and the most extreme in a good way when it comes to gun safety. they keep them locked up. no, son, you don t daughter, you don t do it that way. this is how you do it. like clint said, all of them are so everyone i ve ever met
most hunters even if they were deer hunters, they would not go out. and most deer hunters will go out, and wait until dawn, but duck hunting is different, because you are on the water, and waterfowl, but 2:00 in the the morning, it is quickly deteriorating. if they made the decision early in the day, it was 55 and then the temperatures started to drop quickly, and downward to 30s in a matter of hours when they were putting out the tweet, and then getting down to the freezing mark as the temperatures continued to plummet. the windchills were dropping into the teens. 14, 15 degrees. and now, ponca city here, and this is where the lake, call lake, and it is pretty much divides kay county and osage county, and osage county had wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour. and the terrain, the temperatures were dropping above
sheffield. i want to start with you. look, i m a southerner. deer hunters are voters too, right? but i m wondering when we look at this sort of set of practices, particularly around his economic interests, is scott walker from what you ve seen shoring up a kind of republican primary base? i think so yes definitely. i mean he s been to new york. i ve met him here in new york with some other republican contenders making their way trying to get the donor class here in new york. so he s certainly making noises. whether he s changing his tone i think we saw that with hillary clinton as well. she s trying to channel her inner elizabeth warren. she s changing her tone a little bit so i think that s normal. i think that s normal in terms of looking at a primary or how candidates or potential fake candidates are trying to position themselves. here s what i also find interesting because, you know, the flip-flop thing has always set funny with me.
but there aren t any other campaigns. he doesn t even have a campaign not officially at least. but by now i think it s clear that we can say that governor scott walker is among a large republican field eyeing that white house address. and to know what walker would prioritize for america, we need only look at what he prioritized for wisconsin. a $300 million cut for funding for education. taxes, cut them especially for the rich and just barely for the poor. the lowest 20% of tax filers would receive a tax cut of just $2 a year. but deer hunters, they re doing all right in scott walker s wisconsin where the governor s budget authorizes the department of natural resources to direct $600,000 on buck mortality, and the future of the state s white tail herd and that s just for starters. with me, scot ross heather mcgee and joining my panel, john simmons, who is the business editor of the international business times and carrie
ç??çwowog?w?k?o right now on msnbc, a deadly case of sport and violence. a minnesota man is under arrest this afternoon after fatally shooting five deer hunters in wisconsin. a violent rampage that led authorities on a manhunt that lasted several hours on sunday. we have a suspect. we took him into custody. chai vang committed a shocking multiple murder in wisconsin that grabbed national headlines in 2004. a sixth hunter has died following the deadly confrontation in the north woods of wisconsin. for his own safety he s serving his six consecutive life sentences at iowa state penitentiary. the relatives of the man suspected of killing the six hunters say they are stunned and they don t know what went wrong. i was hunting over in northern wisconsin. i got lost. i got to a private property. one of the owners asked me to leave and i start to leave, and another group come in about five people, two atvs coming in.
