NEW DELHI: While governments across the world have announced several preventive measures and started mass vaccination drive to combat the spread of deadly coronavirus, many still have doubts regarding the efficacy and side effects of the COVID-19 vaccines.
While the clinical trials of Covaxin and Covishield are still ongoing and questions about their safety and efficacy are yet to be answered, the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI), has allowed the two homemade vaccines to be given to the general public.
These two indigenously developed vaccines are still under investigation, the same are being administered to the Indian citizens as part of the mass vaccination drive being carried out by the Centre.

Allahabad High Court stays arrest of web series directors, writers
The court issued notice to UP govt, complainant and directed them to file their respective replies
ALLAHABAD: The Allahabad High Court has stayed the arrest of Mirzapur web series directors and writers in connection with an FIR lodged against them, alleging improper and indecent portrayal of the town of Mirzapur.
Karan Anshuman and Gurmeet Singh are the directors of the first season of the web series Mirzapur while Singh also directed the second season. Vineet Krishna is the writer of the first season and Puneet Krishna of the second.
Hearing the writ petition filed by Anshuman, Singh, Krishna and Krishan, a division bench comprising justices Pritinker Diwaker and Deepak Verma on Thursday (Feb 18) issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh government and the complainant in the matter and directed them to file their respective replies in the matter.
