The 27th Annual Homer Winter King Salmon Tournament is scheduled for Saturday. It is the premier fishing tournament of Alaska where anglers take to the Kachemak Bay waters each spring in search of King Salmon. The one-day tournament awards tens of thousands of dollars in prize money to the largest kings caught.
Brad Anderson, Executive Director for the Homer Chamber of Commerce spoke to KSRM, “
We moved it a little later time frame than usual so we’ve made it a little safer for folks to come out and fish with the vaccine a little bit more prominent in our community. We’re seeing a really strong response with folks coming out wanting to get out fishing again.”
