The Persatuan Pesara Pegawai Perkhidmatan Pendidikan Daerah Ranau has been urged to collaborate with Ranau District Education Office and Parent-Teacher Association to help poor performing schools in the district to improve and excel.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam, who is also Kundasang Assemblyman, said this is important for the sake of the children studying in those schools.
“If not us, who else would do it? We need to work together to assist those students studying in such schools,” he said after a courtesy call by the association, led by its Chairman, Deen Erwan Gunda, at his office in Wisma Kewangan.
Deen earlier said that the association, whose members are mostly retired educators, is ready to assist such schools.
He also briefed Dr Joachim on the association’s activities for this year while at the same time expressing hope they can get support from leaders in Ranau for its implementation.
