Racing magnate JP McManus is comforting his eldest son John after the sudden death of his wife Emma, who was aged just 40.
Emma McManus (nee Ledbetter) died on Wednesday morning in Barbados after suddenly becoming ill and being rushed to a medical centre.
The McManus family had been enjoying a Christmas break staying in a private villa on the grounds of their luxury Sandy Lane resort with their three children.
It’s understood Emma’s parents were also with them.

Back in Limerick, family friend Declan Moylan said last night: ‘I’ve just heard it two minutes ago from my daughter, terrible news, unbelievable.
