May 26th 2011 is a date Sean Doherty will never forget. It s the day his daughter Lisa was rescued by the heroic lifeboat crew at Clogherhead RNLI, and this year, the grateful father is urging people to support the annual RNLI Christmas appeal.
Sean is the proud father of twin girls Lisa and Gillian (22) and hopes the public will make an extra effort to support the RNLI s Christmas Appeal after a challenging year dealing with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on fundraising.
Sean has a special reason to be grateful to the RNLI after the volunteer lifeboat crew at Clogherhead RNLI saved his daughter Lisa when she was kayaking with her class and the group capsized, leaving them in choppy waters and in serious danger of being swept out to sea or going under.
