Former Tipp senior star James Woodlock has been appointed boss of the minor hurlers on a three-year term, with ex-Dublin full-back Paddy Christie taking charge of the U20 footballers. As well as previously overseeing the county’s U16 side, 34-year-old Woodlock has been gaining managerial experience with his club, Drom-Inch.

Now 33 years of age, the free-scoring Tubridy first lined out for the Banner County back in July 2007 in a Tommy Murphy Cup clash against Tipperary, at Ardfinnan, an occasion which also marked the final outing for the host county’s two-time All-Star Declan Browne. Back in late November, the Doonbeg clubman placed a degree of uncertainty over his inter-county future by revealing he was unsure if he would continue on in the 2021 campaign.

Tipp FM Text 083 311 3311 Declan Browne will have a positive impact on the Tipp football setup according to Brian Fox. The two-time All Star has joined the backroom team as forwards coach. Éire Óg Annacarty clubman Fox says having someone of Browne’s experience on board will be good for the players. “Yeah, it’s great to have Declan onboard. “He brings a lot of experience, we all know from his playing days and how good he was. “He’s managed a few teams as well so It’s great to have him onboard. “We want everyone possible to be pulling in the same direction, everyone is trying to steer the ship forward so to have Declan onboard is a big addition.

Browne joins Tipp management team as forwards coach

RTÉ GAA reporter Tipperary football has received a significant boost with the news that two-time All Star Declan Browne has joined their senior management team.  Browne, the county s most decorated footballer, will link up with David Power’s backroom team as the forwards coach.  In 1998, the Moyle Rovers man won his first All Star on the back of stellar displays against Limerick, Waterford and Clare when he hit 1-6, 0-9 and 1-7 respectively.  He landed his second award in 2003, boosted by a nine-point cameo against Donegal in the qualifiers at Croke Park.  In 2005, Browne lead the Tipp team to a Tommy Murphy Cup title, again lighting Croke Park up with a tally of 1-7 in the final to beat Wexford and to become the first Tipperary man to lift a national football title in 75 years.
