I can see a shield of clouds overmost of the area. The rain is offshore. Notice the movement. It is backing up toward the north and west. As the day wears on, we are going to get some rain. The center is 300 miles away. With High Pressure to the north, we are first going to see those winds increase. By lunchtime, were talking about hour with 50mileperhour gusts likely down on the islands, and these winds are going to be with us throughout the day. The winds are picking up. It looks like the morning just stays cloudy for the most part, right . Yeah, but youre going to notice the winds kicking up early along the coastline and the next couple of days. The rain holds off until later this afternoon. Your labor day plans, at least the next few hours, youre doing all right. The winds with hermine, 70 Miles Per Hour, and this is just crawling toward the north a weve got Tropical Storm warnings up for the immediate south coast, the cape and the islands, and this is where the winds are going to be strongest. But still pretty isolated across the cape in the islands. Take a look. Hermine sitting 200 miles offshore at the present time. We have seen rain bands filing end, but they have been confined to the cape and the islands. We have tropical warnings and for good reason. 40th in the vineyard, 41 Miles Per Hour in nantucket. We will see these 40, 50, even higher Miles Per Hour in the afternoon and evening. The farther west you go, notice how the winds back off because you are getting further away from the center of the storm. The biggest action out in the ocean. 12foot seas.
