is called debt slavery. people who some for generations have had to work on a landowner s land and they re paid nothing. they re given, for example, grain or left over food to survive, but they re really beholden to the landowners who then have them working on all different projects on their land. and in one of the places, brick kilns are popular for this thing. we saw men, women, children covered in dust. every day they work from sun up to sun down molding bricks out of the earth and having to fire those bricks. and you see this process going through generations because basically what happens is they really have no other choice. they don t have an education, don t have any money because they re never really paid wages, only given either enough money for food or given leftovers. so these families become accustomed to living this life that really has no end. their children are also involved in it. and we witnessed that ourselves.
