Garbage trucks, police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, tractors, construction equipment, army vehicles and even an Air Evac helicopter will assemble on Playground Way at the DeBow Recreational Complex this Saturday,
As the summer heat continues to burn up, the Hopkinsville Fire Department and Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department are teaming up for the second annual Hoptown Hose Down to keep communities cool.
Beginning Tuesday, June 1, the team will have an HFD-provided pumper truck traveling to six different parks to safely spray down attendees with a water hose and nozzle throughout Hopkinsville.
Parks and Recreation department employees will be on site at each event facilitating the mobile spray parks.
âHoptown Hose Down was born last summer after creative alternatives to allow our residents to have some cool, clean fun,â Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman said.
Movies in the Park will feature the most popular Harry Potter movie Friday night.

Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park series, one of the community’s most-anticipated summer family activities, next show will be Friday, May 21
st at DeBow Recreational Complex for Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows, Part 2. The movie will start at 8pm or as soon as the sun goes down. DeBow Park is located at 307 North Drive in Hoptown.
Movies in the Park remains a FREE activity this summer, thanks to MITP sponsors United Southern Bank, WHOP 1230 AM & 95.3 FM, and Lite Rock 98.7! Load up your car and head to DeBow Park, where the drive-in option will be available again this year. Additionally, Holiday Burgers and Kona Ice of Hopkinsville will be on site to fulfill your movie snack needs!
