Disaster Preparation: The Safety Professional s Role in Planning for a Pandemic with a 20/20 Perspective At the introduction of the coronavirus, Occupational Health and Safety hosted a webinar with Deborah Roy on the topic of planning for a pandemic.  At that time, we did not know much about the virus, and CDC guidance was limited. Now, a year later, Deborah returns to present what we know now.   This session will start with an overview of the virus, specifically how it is now believed to be transmitted, asymptomatic versus symptomatic cases, and new strains. It will address the latest CDC guidance, including a 10-day quarantine and the need for continued use of masks/distancing. The presentation will address regulatory approaches by Federal OSHA and some state plans. Attendees will get a deeper dive into vaccination: what protection is provided by vaccines based on the studies so far, what FDA emergency use authorization means, the latest EEOC guidance on employer vaccination
