Mother nature has played havoc with emergency dune restoration plans, already washing away more than 20,000 tons of sand deposited in Singer Island as part of a $2.5 million project.
The County Commission has voted to buy more land for preservation purposes from an area known as Palm Beach Heights. This is part of a yearslong effort with not only the county but the state and the Department of Environmental Resources Management.
