Family, friends grieving after body of missing Middletown woman pulled from river Jared Goffinet
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (FOX19) - The body of a missing woman was found Monday.
Deborah Burgess Riley’s body was found in the Great Miami River in Middletown on Monday afternoon, according to the Middletown Division of Police.
Around 2:15 p.m. Monday, police were called about a body floating in the river. Once crews pulled the body out, police identified the dead person as Riley.
The 72-year-old Riley, who had dementia, walked away from near Lincoln and 6th avenues either late Saturday or early Sunday, according to her family.
Deborah Burgess Riley was found dead, police said. The Butler County Coroner will conduct an autopsy.
A call came in at 2:16 p.m. of a body spotted in the river, police said.
Riley was last seen walking away from the area of Lincoln Street and Sixth Avenue sometime overnight or around 10 a.m. Sunday.
First responders were dispatched at 2:20 p.m., said Middletown Division of Fire Chief Paul Lolli.
A fire department water rescue team pulled the body from the river at about 3:15 p.m., Lolli said.

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (FOX19) - The Middletown Division of Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing woman with dementia.
Police said Deborah Burgess Riley walked away from the Lincoln/6th Avenue area around 12 p.m. Sunday.
She is described as 5′5″ and 165 pounds with long gray hair and possibly wearing a maroon jacket.
