BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â Court documents state police were able to use GPS data to help them locate the suspect in a hit-and-run on Stockdale Highway last year that left 65-year-old Deborah Ann Geneau dead.
On July 22, 2020, Geneau was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Stockdale Hwy, just in front of Cal State Bakersfield. Surveillance video of the crash showed a Nissan Sentra making an unsafe lane change, resulting in Geneau s death and then fleeing the scene, the report says.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. â An arrest has been made in the fatal hit and run that killed 65-year-old Deborah Ann Geneau.
Back on July 22, 2020, just after 1 p.m., the Bakersfield Police Department responded to the 8100 block of Stockdale Highway regarding an injury traffic collision. One adult female, later identified as Geneau succumbed to fatal injuries from the collision.
It was unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision.
Based upon the investigation, it was determined that a 2010 or newer, silver sedan with very minor driver-side damage, believed to be involved in the collision, fled the scene of the collision.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â Almost nine months after the tragic death of Deborah Ann Geneau, investigators are releasing details that they hope will lead to the arrest of the suspect in the deadly 2020 hit-and-run.
The law firm Chain Cohn Stiles, who is representing Geneau s family in this case, announced that the Bakersfield Police Department believes the vehicle that caused the crash that killed Geneau had a Proposition 65 warning sticker on the driverâs side windshield.
