Whether it’s several thousand dollars for the livestock champions or $1,000 for a jar of homemade cookies, the bidding at the Ramona Junior Fair’s annual auctions never fails to surprise and delight spectators.
The Junior Fair kicks off with the Pie Auction, which features sweet treats of every description made by 4-H, FFA and Grange club members. It’s a way to let the crowd interact with and get to know the young competitors.
Meanwhile, the Livestock Auction is the grand finale of the Fair. Money earned from the auctioned animals helps the club members meet their future goals, whether it’s college tuition, a vehicle or other needs.
