The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art will inaugurate its Master’s in Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition with a reception April 1. The reception runs from 4-6 p.m., with artist talks beginning at 3 p.m. The exhibition will remain in the museum through May 7. The artist talks will be an informal tour of each artists’ work,.
On Feb. 10, the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art will host the 2022 Jo Hockenhull Distinguished Lecture in Women’s Studies, given by artist Alison Saar. Nishant Shahani, Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies associate professor, said the lectures take place every two years to honor the legacy of Jo Hockenhull, a former WSU emeritus fine arts.
The WSU Schnitzer Museum opened a new exhibit on Tuesday. “Indie Folk: New Art and Sounds from the Pacific Northwest” features various artwork from artists around the region and will be accompanied by playlists curated by PNW-based musicians. Debby Stinson, marketing and press relations manager of the WSU Schnitzer Museum, said the inspiration for the exhibit.
As Family Weekend approaches, students and their loved ones are planning out their weekends when visiting the WSU Pullman campus. James Cox, junior management information systems major, is planning on having both of his parents, WSU alumni Willard and Yvonne Cox, visit him this weekend. Friday night, the family plans to attend the Wrestling Crimson.
