well, michael steele, thank you. that s your party. former rnc chair the president s the satire now and we just record what he does. 7 minutes before he did, he received a note you could see him looking offstage that voting occurred and he d been impeached on the second article. so probably in his head he s in something of a rage now and you see where he goes into the most vicious possible direction. you know, to pick on the widow or whatever, but to pick on john dingell, the dean of the house there for six years and everybody loved him. he was the number one defender of it auto industry. but his whole stick was you can fight, you can fight bitterly but with a modicum of respect. he dictated those words. you need a modicum of respect on the day he died, and debby
someone having traded public trust for personal gain, in this case of abusing the country s highest office. it was a single solitary defense of the man s character. i didn t hear a single republican man or woman from any region of the country stand in the well of the house of representatives and say that donald trump is a good man. and he s an honest man, that he isn t the kind of man that would exploit his power for something for himself. i think this is important, a fact of the case that belongs in the history books that opposing impeachment down the line, that the entire political party would not say a line in defense of this president s character. i believe hisgregious moral deficiency, this lack of basic human speaking about debby dingell and her late husband will be his downfall, a question
of impeachment bothers him greatly, but at the same time capitalizing on it politically to energize his base. on a personal point he drew bipartisan backlash when he took aim at former veteran, late congressman john dingell. he lowered the staff at half staff to pay respects when the congressman passed. last night he took aim at him and that s getting a backlash. take a listen to what he had to say. dingell, debby dingell, that s a real beauty. she calls me up. it s the nicest thing that s ever happened. thank you so much. john would be so thrilled. he s looking down. he would be so thrilled. thank you so much, sir. i said that s okay, don t worry about it. maybe he s looking up. i don t know. reporter: so president trump there seeming to indicate that perhaps the late congressman is
health issue. somebody said to me yesterday we need to get into it and know every medicine someone is on. that s not the the answer. i have one of the only bipartisan gun bills if someone has been convicted of domestic violence or stalking and it s a dating partner or something, shouldn t they be able to have access of a gun? if they ve been convicted of a felony, they shouldn t have access. there s common-sense things that i think the mood is going to change. we ve got problem-solvers, 26 republicans, 26 dems, some tough conversations. but i think people are trying not to go to the normal corners, and really talk about what can we get through. and what is law enforcement need? what does the school community need? listen and hear what can make a difference. i m grateful that you re leading the charge, democratic congresswoman debby dingell of michigan, thanks so much.
