My husband, Ron Frost, and I are in complete agreement with Debbie Kardaseski’s recent letter (2/8). The reporter insinuates that the Derby purchase of Walker Pond property was improper and possibly illegal. The property was purchased at public.
The article in Sunday’s Monitor regarding land sales around Walker Pond was full of innuendo that contributed nothing to the story. Ms. Derby purchased the land through a legal, sealed bid process. To imply otherwise is libelous. To include her.
David Brooks’s article about a “techno-fix” for the plastics dilemma (Monitor, 6/28) was very interesting and brought up the adage of the cure being worse than the disease. At this time, we aren’t even sure which fix will cure the problem: very high.
