KORAPUT: Forty-five-year old
Manguli Kirsani, belonging to the primitive Bonda tribe, has been diligently discharging her duty as an anganwadi worker at Mudulipada centre under Khairaput block in the state’s remote Malkangiri district for the past 26 years.
But taking the first shot of Covid-19 vaccine at the Khairaput community health centre (CHC) on Monday has suddenly shot her into limelight. She has become an inspiration to other members of her community, who were reluctant to take the vaccine earlier.
“Though people of our area were doubting the efficacy of the vaccine, I was not in the least scared of it as I have been in the front line of the battle against Covid-19 right from the beginning. I took the vaccine with confidence and have not had any adverse reaction after vaccination,” Manguli told
