Fighting the opioid crisis has become a point of bipartisan agreement for Kansas lawmakers at the state and federal levels.
But when push comes to shove, Stacy Chamberlain, program director for Behavioral Health Group s clinic in Overland Park, said those on the frontlines of the battle to fight addiction often don t get a seat at the table.
That is especially true when it comes to getting the necessary funding to help Kansans. We re all out there scrapping for funds, Chamberlain said. But I do think that at times we re not given the opportunity to even apply for those or to say, Hey, this is what we do.
