Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Masks are no longer required. Josh Sayre of the Freeport Volunteer Fire Department and Alice Laporte of the Tippecanoe Volunteer Fire Department were awarded EMT of the Year from WV Harrison Community Hospital.  Sports Physicals are available at the Freeport Family Health Center. MercyOne House of Mercy Game Show Gala co-chairs, teams announced Tuesday, May 11, 2021 3:02 PM MercyOne Central Iowa announced that the 2021 MercyOne House of Mercy Game Show Gala will take place virtually on June 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The game show portion of the event will be livestreamed and hosted by Des Moines personality Steve Berry and WOI Local 5 anchor Sabrina Ahmed. The 12th annual gala, presented by the Graham Group Inc. and produced by MercyOne Des Moines Foundation, is a fun-spirited game show-style fundraiser for MercyOne House of Mercy, one of Iowa’s largest and most comprehensive providers of behavioral health care, especially parenting women with children. The 2021 co-chairs are Chris and Jamie Cornelius and George and Deb Milligan. Tickets and corporate sponsorships are on sale now. United Way of Central Iowa celebrates achievements, notes ongoing challenges during Live United celebration BY MICHAEL CRUMB, Senior Staff Writer Monday, April 26, 2021 3:08 PM Central Iowa made strides in each of the goals of its strategic plan, with more children graduating from high school, a higher rate of self-sufficiency and increased community well-being, according to the 2021 Community Impact Report that was released today by the United Way of Central Iowa during its Live United celebration. Freeport News Correspondent Freeport 5-mile run and walk will take place at 9:30 a.m. March 13. The first four miles of the course will take participants across paved country roads where they will go by the 16-Sided Barn and Skull Fork Covered Bridge. The last mile takes participants up Easy Street and continues into town for the finish line. Shuttle service is available upon request. Register for the event at runsignup.com/Race/OH/Freeport/Freeport5Miler. The cost is $22 (includes T-shirt) or $27 (includes long sleeve shirt) or $15 (no shirt option). Same-day registration is available. Packet pickup is from 8:30 to 9:20 a.m., under the pavilion at the park. Cost to register on race day is $20 (no shirts available).
