HOT SPRINGS - El Dorado’s DeAndra Burns Jr., won a pair of events and led the Wildcats to the championship Thursday in the Joe Reese Memorial Track & Field Championships.
In a 56-35 win over Searcy, El Dorado chewed the final four minutes off the clock by handing the football to Shadarious Plummer … over and over … again and again.
Plummer finished the game with 30 carries for 216 yards and five touchdowns.
Those weren’t typical single-game numbers for the senior back. But as far as team-first attitude and big-game production, that performance was just another Friday night.
A two-year starter, Plummer was the MVP of the state championship game as a junior. But, as far as durability and carrying a large chunk of the offensive load, he still had something to prove as a senior.
