NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre has come out with a statement, breaking his approximate one-month silence on the Mississippi welfare funds scandal that has embroiled him over recent weeks.
"Favre 4 Hope," which was created to support "disadvantaged and disabled children and breast cancer patients," donated more than $130,000 to the University of Southern Mississippi Athletic Foundation, tax records show.
Per the report, from 2018 to 2020, Favre s charity donated more than $130,000 to USM athletics. The foundation provides "financial assistance" to services for disadvantaged youth and cancer patients.
