Kenzie Moore defeated in DeSoto council race, school board retains Fleming, McNairy elected in Place 6

Saturday’s election saw incumbent Letitia Hughes retain her seat after narrowly defeating former Mayor Pro Tem Kenzie Moore, while the DeSoto ISD Place 6 school board race will go to a June runoff election.
Only 60 votes separated Hughes victory over Moore in a race where a total of 3,098 votes were cast in their race. About 10% of registered voters cast a ballot for the municipal elections.
