So, unfortunately, the time of death has proved to be a time when the virus tends to spread very widely. And in order to get control over the virus, people are having to change the ways in which they handle illness and handle death and to move away from traditions that are centuries old. This has been a major difficulty for many of the societies that are affected. And its really only in the last few weeks, thanks to the courage of the leaders of the countries concerned, that theres been a much greater emphasis on people coming to terms with and owning the disease and changing their behaviors so that theyre less likely to spread the disease. Another phenomenon thats occurring is that when people get the disease, they get scared. And they tend to run to people who they think can help them traditional healers, centers of faith, or even friends and relatives. And that, in turn, leads to the movement of sickness and the disease into new communities, new chains of transmission. And that has
