Speedway Police Officer Acted In Self-Defense In Feb. Shooting
SPEEDWAY, Ind. Charges will not be filed against a Speedway police officer who shot and killed a man on Feb. 12.
Special Prosecutor Chris Gaal said Officer Robby Harris was acting in self-defense when he shot De’Aire Gray. Gaal asked the State Police to investigate the shooting and return the results to him.
The shooting happened in the 5900 block of West 25th Street, near I-465.
Police were called about a suspicious car when they arrived they found De’Aire Gray near the car, and when they tried to talk to him he ran away.
