Race organizers
announced the race in March, saying that it would be added to the gravel bike race circuit and that efforts would be made to make the race especially inclusive for women and people of color.
“We realized that having ‘man’ in our name didn’t complement our mission,” said public relations director Scott Kaier.
So instead of naming the race after Bredo Morstoel, the frozen dead guy preserved on ice in Nederland, the event will now be called Ned Gravel, a reference to Nederland, the home base for the race.
Kaier also said that because Boulder County has eased COVID restrictions the race can now host up to 750 participants. Registration can be accomplished

You’re maxing your tech “muscle.” You’ve increased speed, storage capacity, apps, cell services, etc. And along with all this new power you’ve created even greater mountains of data. And you protect it with …? EVEN MORE TECHNOLOGY, OF COURSE. Firewalls, back up storage and servers. But, is that even enough?
Called Dead Man Gravel, the race will be run on three courses the 66-mile Tungsten loop, the 40-mile Gold loop and the 25-mile Silver loop. The different levels of the race will give participants, experienced or not, challenges without excluding those unfamiliar with the sport. Because the event is based in Nederland, riders will experience climbing, technical sections and sustained elevation.
